Biography George M. Baylor, MD Clinical Assistant Professor George M. Baylor, MD, is Clinical Assistant Professor at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg. Dr. Baylor serves as an interventional pain management physician at Blue Ridge Pain Management Associates and Lewis Gale Physicians in Salem as well as Baylor Pain Management and Comprehensive Pain Management in Roanoke. He is also an independent medical examiner at Blue Shield Blue Cross of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and serves as consultant for Network Medical Review in Rockford, Illinois. Dr. Baylor obtained his undergraduate degree through University of Kentucky in Lexington and earned his medical degree at Marshall University School of Medicine, West Virginia. He served his internal medicine internship at Charleston Area Medical Center, West Virginia and completed his anesthesiology residency training at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He performed a fellowship in pain medicine at Allegheny General Hospital and a fellowship in health care management at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Dr. Baylor is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain management. Dr. Baylor is a member of several professional associations, including the American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Management Physicians. He has delivered numerous presentations on pain management and is currently a biannual presenter for the "I Can Cope" series for cancer patients at Craven Cancer Center. The "I Can Cope" program is a component of the American Cancer Society Cancer Resource Network and is a free, comprehensive resource to help patients and their caregivers manage the impact of cancer on their lives.
